The Veil of Night – 8×10″, watercolour and gouache
She dances across the landscape unravelling a curtain of stars.
A woman rich in heirlooms, trinkets that remind her of lost loved ones and long gone ancestors. Her strength is drawn from these reminders, from the power held in one’s love of family. Now she’s alone, mournful and quiet, but still she still clutches at the warmth these tokens provide.
8×10″, watercolour and acryla gouache
This is my submission for the Month of Love topic “Light”.
Inspired by Tolkien’s Smaug, a queen who covets wealth and power. She destroys everyone around her in her pursuit of riches. She sits surrounded by great castle halls, filled with gold, but she sits alone.
